The western end of the route follows the Meramec and keeps going. Kirkwood and Fenton are on it, and so are Ballwin and Chesterfield further out: Kirkwood was incorporated in 1865, Ballwin in 1950 and Chesterfield in 1988, and all four are far enough from a South County base that they are worth naming rather than leaving to a radius on a map.
Further west than Chesterfield is worth a phone call rather than an assumption.
